The relevance of sharing information

Ziah was born in a poor family of a village in Phultala Upazila. Ziah’s father is a day laborer and she was one of three children. When Ziah was 15 years old, she fell in love with a boy from the same village who was unemployed. Shortly after getting married, misery and sorrow began to reign over her new life. Ziah became accustomed to abuse from various family members at her in law’s house. Ziah has no source of income and she could not decide on what would to do. In the mean time, her father came to know about the “Jukta Hoye Mukta” project. A courtyard meeting was held in the village where safe migration was discussed in detail, as well as the opportunity of a vocational training, and subsequently, a job in the RMG sector. Following an intensive two-month training, Ziah began work in a RMG factory. In this way Ziah came to know how to be self-dependent. One month later she was able to bring her husband to Dhaka so that he too could search for a job. Currently, both of them are employed and grateful to have come by this opportunity.
