Leave no one behind

Kameli is a 18 years old girl living in the north of Dahka with her parents, brother and sisters. Her father works at City Corporation and mother is a housewife.

After joining as a Normal Phone Holder under the project of “Jukta hoe Mukta – United We Stand”, she received an array of trainings such as: a training on NPH’s for how to connect with Team Leaders and how to acquire and disseminate information to others girls in their designated area, as well as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Kameli’s responsibilities include: attending meetings, helping organize Team Leader’s meetings, interacting and spreading information with another 10 girls living in her area as well as Normal phone user peers, and effectively communicating with her team leader.

When Kameli first joined as a Normal Phone Holder, she didn’t know how to use the phone; how to digitally connect and circulate information with other girls. Now she has also joined and is an active member of an adolescent Club where she gives training on SRHR issues, life skills and in December took part in a theatrical play in entitled: “Leave no one behind: end violence against women and girls.” Kameli has blossomed into an energetic an empowered member of the adolescent community.

Currently, she is continuing her higher secondary studies with the intention of one day becoming a lecturer in a teaching institute.
